Luxury Handbag Designer Tyler Ellis Lists Chic Brentwood Park Chateau for $42 Million

Tyler Ellis, the daughter of fashion designer Perry Ellis and screenwriter Barbara Gallagher, purchased a French-inspired residence in Los Angeles six years ago for $12.3 million. The luxury handbag designer has now listed the property, which has been extensively renovated, in a prime location in Brentwood for almost $30 million more than the purchase price in late 2016.

Ellis and her husband, Benjamin Shriner, collaborated with the original architect, William Hefner, and favored interior designers, The Archers, to customize the estate. The result is an 11,800 square foot property with six bedrooms and ten baths, featuring a main house and an "entertainment" house.

According to co-listing agent Aaron Kirman of AKG | Christie's International Real Estate, the property is a unique blend of classical and contemporary styles that exudes timeless elegance and sophistication. The two-story main house is located on over a half-acre parcel surrounded by cypress trees and accessed via reeded-glass entry doors that open into a grand foyer. The interior boasts a formal dining room, a library with blue lacquered walls, and a black-hued gourmet kitchen featuring new subway tile and bronze hardware.

The master retreat is located upstairs and includes a separate den, dual walk-in closets, and baths. The three-level entertainment house spans around 5,000 square feet and comes with an office, a speakeasy, a movie theater, and a 6,500-bottle limestone wine cellar. The grassy backyard includes a covered terrace, pool, spa, garden, bocce court, and additional areas for outdoor lounging and entertaining.
